UW School of Medicine and Public Health
The University of Wisconsin Medical School has the largest research commitment of any school or college on campus, receiving more than $130 million in research support in fiscal 2000 with approximately 580 faculty members, working in 25 departments and 17 centers and institutes, and the school includes active research programs covering virtually every aspect of basic or clinical biomedical research.

UW Pharmacy School
The Mission of the faculty and staff of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Wisconsin-Madison is to educate, train and maintain competency of pharmacy practitioners and scientists, and to create, transmit and apply knowledge based on research in the basic and applied pharmaceutical sciences to enhance the quality of life through improved health.

UW School of Nursing
Faculty research teams at UW-Madison investigate issues of concern to patient care and nursing, such as the health, illness, and transition states of women, families, and communities; health policy and economics, health informatics, and international health; psychosocial aspects of acute and chronic illness; biological responses to illness and injury; and hermeneutics and interpretative pedagogy.

Waisman Center
The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. The center is one of nine national facilities that includes a Mental Retardation Developmental Disabilities Research Center and a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.

UW General Clinical Research Center
The UW CTRC (The Clinical and Translational Research Core) is an NIH-funded clinical research center within the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. The CTRC (The Clinical and Translational Research Core) mission is to offer an optimal setting for medical investigators to conduct safe, controlled, state-of-the-art research. The 13-room inpatient and outpatient unit has a core staff of 15 highly-trained research nurses who provide quality, safety, and a caring environment.

UW Comprehensive Cancer Center
An integral part of the UW Medical School, the UWCCC unites over 200 physicians and scientists who work together in translating discoveries from research laboratories into new treatments that benefit cancer patients. Our mission is primarily achieved through research programs that bring scientists together from many different disciplines.

UW Health is a comprehensive system of health care providers serving patients at more than 60 clinical locations throughout the state, 44 of them in Dane County.

National Center for Women’s Health Research
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Women's Health Research is one of nineteen National Centers of Excellence in Women's Health designated by the U.S. Public Health Service's Office on Women's Health. The model centers were formed to provide integrated and comprehensive women's health services for women across the country.

Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute is committed to creating a public health environment in Wisconsin in which Alzheimer's disease and related dementias are widely recognized, well understood, aggressively and appropriately treated, and in which those who are afflicted and those who care for them receive the education, quality services and support they need to effectively cope with this devastating chronic disease.
