Beginning a Clinical Research Study at UW
For clinical investigators and research coordinators at the UW, we offer information about study finances, how to prepare study budgets, how to obtain institutional approvals (e.g., IRB) and how to complete institutional forms. We also have information to help you get started with a clinical trial idea.
OCT is a full-service resource that:

Completes Confidential Disclosure Agreements
Prepares and maintains regulatory documents

Completes IRB and other research committee submissions

Coordinates investigational product maintenance and handling with the Pharmaceutical Research Center (PRC)

Negotiates study budgets

Facilitates study contracts

Provides nurse/research specialist study coordination
The Mission of the Office of Clinical Trials is to:

Promote and enhance hight quality clinical research activities at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Provide a wide range of study support services allowing our investigators to concentrate on their research.
- Act as an institutional contact for sponsors, facilitating identification of investigators whose clinical trial interests, experience, and patients match a sponsor’s study requirements.
