Liver Cancer and Cirrhosis Research Study

The purpose of the ACRIN study is to see if a procedure called radiofrequency ablation is effective in treating people with cirrhosis who develop a liver cancer.  Radiofrequency ablation uses electrical energy to produce heat in tissues. This heat can destroy cells.  The study has visits every 3 months over 18 months.

Participants must have cirrhosis and liver cancer, and can’t have had prior treatment for the cancer by any method.  You can’t be in this study if you have an active infection of are allergic to iodine.
